A Master Teacher is a non-tenure track faculty member who has experienced at least 5 years of successful teaching, is widely recognized for his or her educational leadership, and has a minimum of a Master’s Degree, and experience in and passion for educating other teachers. A Master Teacher demonstrates mastery of content and pedagogical content knowledge and the skills necessary to use this knowledge. Master Teachers are tremendous examples and guides, they are knowledgeable about what new teachers face and need, and they are indispensible in providing connections with local school district teachers and administrators.
Minimum Qualifications:
•A Masters Degree or higher,
•Five or more years of science or mathematics teaching experience in a public school at the high school or middle school level.
•Strong oral and written communication skills,
•Excellent organizational skills,
•Excellent interpersonal skills,
•Ability to work collaboratively within an academic community,
•Ability to interpret students needs and produce instructional materials,
•Ability to manage and meet deadlines.
Strongly Preferred
Qualifications:
•High School Mathematics Teaching experience,
•Strong content background in mathematics, to include several undergraduate courses beyond Calculus III,
•Recent experience teaching mathematics in public school, including experience teaching courses beyond Algebra I,
•experience in professional organization activities.
Also Desired:
•Experience teaching the physical sciences.
Salary Range:
$50,000-60,000
