The primary charge of this commission is to provide a very thorough and detailed investigation of the effects of high stakes testing of teachers & students. In other words, are there any documented benefits of providing so much paper pencil testing of both students and teachers? Tasks should include, but not be limited to, providing some type of publication, resource, presentation, and/or national academy (etc.) including your recommendations with little or no expense to ATE. Perhaps an item or event that would enhance ATE revenue.

Mentoring and Induction
(2004-2007 – Pultorak Commission)
The primary charge of this commission is to provide a very thorough and detailed investigation of the effects of induction programs and mentoring on teacher performance, retention, student learning, etc. In other words, are there any documented benefits of providing induction programs and formal mentoring for novice teachers? Further, should mentors receive formal training; if yes, what would be effective recommendations for this training? Tasks should include, but not be limited to, providing some type of publication, resource, presentation, and/or national academy (etc.) including your recommendations with little or no expense to ATE. Perhaps an item or event that would enhance ATE revenue.

In other words, what are specific events, activities, and recommendations that would increase p-12 teacher involvement in ATE. Tasks should include, but not be limited to, providing a report and/or presentation to the ATE Board of Directors and other pertinent committees outlining your recommendations and suggestions.
