The purpose of the Inclusive Education SIG is to support ATE and its members in creating inclusive school environments and providing access to instruction in the general education curriculum for all students.

Some of our activities include interactive symposia at the ATE conference addressing some of the current topics affecting certification and prepartion of teachers of students with diverse learning needs. These topics have included collaboration among all educators, preparation of highly qualified teachers, and practices of differentiated instruction.

This SIG is comprised of a growing network of ATE members interested in preparing teachers to work in inclusive education settings and to provide access to general education for all students, particularly those with exceptional learning needs. We welcome new members and encourage anyone interested to come to our yearly interactive symposium at the conference, attend our business meeting, or contact the chair for more information.
