Meals and more…
Conference goers will find the 2005 ATE Summer Conference to be one of the more affordable of the national educational conferences. Included in your conference registration is breakfast on Monday and Tuesday; luncheons followed by a keynote on Monday and Tuesday; a community gathering, “Picnic at the Park,” for the conference close on Wednesday; a “Cultures of North Dakota” dining experience for the conference opening on Sunday; and a dinner at the conference site hotel on Tuesday. The only meal not included in conference registration is Monday night; interested attendees may participate in an excursion to Medora for the “Pitchfork Fondue” and musical entertainment for an additional charge.

Excursion to Medora and the "Pitchfork Fondue" Monday, August 1
Nestled at the entrance to Theodore Roosevelt National Park, Medora is rich in lore and legends. It has been home to Native Americans, hardy ranchers, aristocratic entrepreneurs and Teddy Roosevelt. Today, Medora is home to the Medora Musical, North Dakota's number one attraction. The beautiful badlands serve as a spectacular background for the Burning Hills Amphitheater, where a cast of talented performers kick up their heels in a musical extravaganza. Before the show, you will experience the Pitchfork Fondue where 11 ounce ribeye steaks are cooked western style. Join us on this evening trip and experience authentic western hospitality, great food and fun entertainment in a place where legends once lived and the legacy lives on. Price for this special trip will be $50.

Knife River Trip Tuesday, August 2
This afternoon trip provides an overview of the people and times of the Lewis and Clark expedition. You will visit a Hidatsa earthlodge, the recreated Fort Mandan, two interpretive centers, an Indian Art Museum and the Bergquist Gallery which features a collection of Karl Bodmer prints. This trip is scheduled from noon to six-thirty on Tuesday afternoon. Cost is $20.00 per person.
