Half Day Workshops

2. Better Together! Beginning Professional Development School Work (sponsored by NAPDS), Friday 7/31, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 Noon, $75

Sponsored by the National Association for Professional Development Schools (NAPDS.org)

This interactive workshop is designed for schools and universities just beginning their PDS journey. Participants are encouraged to bring at least one P-12 colleague and one college/university colleague if at all possible.

Professional Development Schools have the potential to create a collaborative system of learning environments for students in today’s P-12 classrooms, their teachers and for those teacher candidates entering our profession. But where do we begin? And what can school/university partnerships do better together than we can do alone?

Participants will experience a World Café model focused on how to create conversation and momentum among potential partners.  PDS essentials, assessment instruments and practitioner perspectives will frame our discussion. Colleagues from across the country with experience beginning PDS relationships will share their perspectives about Professional Development School work.
