Thanks for getting a thread started on a possible topic for the 2020 annual conference.

ATE is celebrating a historic milestone at the conference in Atlantic City.  I think it might be fitting for our SIG to present some sort of historic review of early childhood education.

Research and advocacy efforts in early childhood education and teacher education over many decades have been effective in moving policy in a better direction for our youngest students.

That focus could fit well into the conference theme of Advocating for Teacher Education: Impacting Research, Policy, and Practice.

We invite you to make suggestions for topics of discussion at our next ECTE SIG Meeting and/or suggestions for our Early Childhood Symposium session, sponsored by the ECTE SIG.

Please send either Billi Bromer or Jill Smith, Co-Chairs of the ECTE SIG, your suggestions. The Early Childhood Symposium proposal will be due on July 1. We will need ideas/topics by June 1st in order to prepare the proposal and meet the proposal deadline.

    Jill Smith
