Exemplary Supervisory Practices Special Interest Group [SIG]

of the Association of Teacher Educators


The Exemplary Supervisory Practices SIG focuses on the clinical supervision of pre-service teachers and exemplary practices in supervision of future teachers.  ATE’s annual meeting provides an opportunity for supervisors of student teachers and teacher interns to network, share research, and learn about innovative methods in supervision.

Purpose

The purpose of the Exemplary Supervisory Practices SIG is to form a community of learners interested in the theory and best practices associated with clinical supervision.  The university-based and school-based members are encouraged to share clinical models, teaching ideas, research and theory, intern development strategies, and resources to help meet the challenges of preparing teachers for the 21st century.
